Nathan Chaney

Exceeding your expectations!

Born and raised in Monterey County, and now living in Marina with his wife Lori, son Braden and their Labrador Retriever Balu, Nathan Chaney comes to J.R. Rouse Real Estate with a range of experience in land use planning and real estate transactions.  In Nathan’s own words, “Growing up, I recall my grandfather’s dinner table conversations about artichoke production, water use and land for sale.  There was real enthusiasm at the table and I always asked many questions.”

A 1995 Graduate of Salinas High School, Nathan attended Humboldt State University where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in land use and natural resources planning.  Following his developing passion for water policy and real estate, Nathan worked for a local law firm before earning his law degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2004.  During law school, he clerked for the Port of San Diego and competed on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team.

Nathan’s experience working with landowners, government agencies and consultants on development projects and real estate transactions gives him a unique perspective within the real estate profession. Nathan takes pride in negotiating the best possible deal for his clients.

When not working, Nathan serves on the Marina Coast Water District Water Conservation Commission and enjoys spending time with his family and their Labrador Retriever. Some of Nathan's other interests are fishing, hiking, snowboarding, traveling and playing guitar.
